What are they, exactly?
Is it a casual group ride from bar to bar, or is it a more 'serious' ride that just
ends at a bar?
Or both?
We have a fairly large
beer festival in Durham every October, and I was thinking of organizing a ride
in conjunction with the festival this year. I don't know how many people around the area would be into that...
We call it a "bike-a-thon" here. (Sponsors and benefitting a good cause) Bunch of official stops at bars for hydration. Something like 3000 riders, in years past - I did the ride for 10 years, we made about 8 stops on a 50 mile ride. Shot of tequila, sprint your arse off to get to the next bar. This is where that saying "it's like a riding a bike" comes in. If I had to think about it I couldn't have done it. But loads of fun and I never crashed until the year I decided to do it by boat in the back bays.
Organize it. It'll ride.
