The flask is from Surly but the cage was made by Joseph Ahearne in Portland, OR. It's distributed through several bikeshops (do a search for Spaceman Bicycle Flask Holster) or you could check out his website to get it directly from him.

This is the greatest thread ever!!! I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who does this! I haven't wrecked or had any problems with it so far, though the fact that I live only a mile away from the bars could have something to do with it. I'm planning on doing it again tonight, so wish me luck!

Just remember that most accidents occur within a mile from home!

i dont remember my first, although i think it was the time i rode down brookline hill ****faced, but the most memorable was when i was at tigerlily's bar on westland, and went to the bathroom, puked twice, thought "how the **** am i gonna ride home", but somehow stumbled out to my bike, and rode it perfectly fine, then puked some more at home before passing out. i officially can ride better than i can walk when drunk

A couple years ago I went to my buddy's going-away party and got smashed on Rhinelander beer (and a horrid drink made from the ends of a few different liquor bottles + wine). I had a Schwinn 5-speed Collegiate that I'd trash picked months before, and I had about 20 blocks to get home.

It was 3am on a Saturday in the middle of the summer, and the usual post-bar traffic was on the road. Lightless, I decided screaming was the best way to let people know I was coming. I started singing at the top of my lungs. No idea what I was saying, but I remember it being damn fun.

Seconds later, while climbing a hill, the grip slides completely off the bars (moustache-y cruiser type) in my hand and I almost fell over sideways. I found myself screaming, drunk as hell, weaving out of control, waving a detached rubber grip in hand. Absurdity...

last drunken ride..

last night...2:45am riding down market street so drunk the only time i stop/slow down is to throw up more....throwing up so hard at 6th and market crackheads try and pass me their pipe to ease my pain

by the time i make it to the bus terminal...i can't stand up anymore...bus driver has to secure my bike to the bike rack...plus wake me up when we hit oakland, where 2 alameda county deputies laugh at me as i somehow miss my pedals and fall into a fence...i don't think they thought i was going to ride away, cause their expressions changed somewhat as i sprinted into the darkness...

i remember this night......

it has been too heavy here lately.....make me laugh....

Classic. Avant-garde poetry, if you ask me. Wayner, I don't know if you're still hanging around forums, but I'm going to steal this little gem of a line from you and put it in something I write someday.

ive only drunk rode on my mountain bike,
so i decide while riding home to jump off of EVERYTHING and at every available time to wheelie..
the wheelies never work and i usually end up falling a lot.

Don't remember the first drunk ride but it was definitely this summer. Haven't bailed drunk yet but I ate ***** on the way to getting drunk once. Geared bike with a broke back brake/****ty front break + heave shopping bag of mixers + trying to switch hands in order to be able to stop = mmm.... pavement

I had no idea of this, and maybe it's just like this here in California, but I had a cop tell me that if you get a BUI, they could take away your drivers license. That seems a bit extreme to me...

Who needs a drivers license? Ha!
Actually - In California they can take away your license for a year - Only if get a BUI and your under 21.
Other than that - the max fine is $250. I haven't heard of anyone getting one - here in SF.

My favorite drunken bike adventure was when I couldn't get my feet properly clipped into my SPD's after trying for about 5 minutes. So instead I pretended to be a pony and "trotted" alongside my bike all the way home. . . and fell a couple of times.

i don't generally get black out drunk, but if i ride home drunk. i end up just riding much faster than i don't have normally and avoiding stopping. Since i'm partially numb i couldn't tell that i was tired or uncomfortable due to the cold/warm/humid weather.

i also don't think that it will be that bad, until i ride about 50 feet, after a few blocks i move on and just want to get home.

I used to do the bar crawl on Cap Hill with my old roommate. We'd drink at as many dive bars as we could and ride back up the hill. I'd sing and she would scream at me to shut the f*** up.

I think I'll agree with that after my first drunken ride last night. Had 4 beers I think and man was I riding on the way home! Woha! Like an arrow, silently and oh so fast going through the empty streets in Stockholm. If the midnight cowboy was deadly in his quest for speed is up to others to judge.
