I haven't ridden the newest versions of Ultegra but I do have the 2010 Force group on my Ridley. Force requires much less fiddling to get it dialed in. Shifts are very quick with a very mechanical feel. My older Ultegra feels less precise to me although it works fine as well. I also have the 11/28 which I like a lot with a compact for hilly terrain. Force is also lighter than the Shimano groups if that matters to you. I thought about the double-tap shifting but I’ve found that I like it a lot. I’ve got groups from all of the three main players with one being SuperRecord-11. If I built up another bike it would be SRAM.
