for those using the Saris Bones 2 or 3 rack what is you procedure for preventing trunk damage? i ask, because i never really paid much attention to wiping off the trunk and rubber feet/arms of the Saris before installing it on my maroon chevy impala. i made short trips and long trips with multiple bikes on the rack with success.

except for the paint damage to the top of the trunk. is it as simple as wiping off the trunk and rear leg bumper pieces prior to install? give me your tips and tricks. later.
