Well, I may be an idiot, but I'm going to give the 100 mile route of the Space Race a go tomorrow. My previous long is 75 miles, which was 2 weeks ago and took me under 5 hours. I wasn't completely blown, and feel I could have done another gone longer. It was funny because my new bike computer conked out that week before the ride, so I was riding only by heartrate and really didn't pay much attention to that even. I just rode my pace and stopped at every other rest stop or so. (My Polar battery finally gave out this week, so I'm going completely by feel tomorrow. )
I figure I'll take it pretty easy this week though, just some short rides to keep everything loose.
By the way, what is the distance for the 2 days? My team packet said day 1 is 80ish miles and day 2 is 65 if I do the Express route, which I probably will since my fitness is way behind.
