Oh, come on. Done right (no hacking off of braze-ons, etc), it'd make a pretty bad-ass urban fixed gear. Switch back to gears whenever you're ready to take it out on tour.

Be happy that you got a touring bike many would kill for at a price most would double and still be glad to pay.
Seriously! I spent all last season looking for a deal like this, finally worked up the pluck and just paid $400 for a decent vintage tourer.
