Read the article from Peter White, linked in post #6. It is a fact that moving the saddle further back balances your weight over the saddle so you will have less weight on your hands. With the saddle in the proper position, you should find that you can hover you hands over the brake hoods, or at least ride with a single finger tip supporting your weight.
