Not to be flip, but we're not talking about a priceless one-off here. How much value does a Miyata 610 have, anyway? A re-paint will not affect resale one penny. You might not get out what it cost to paint it, but a repainted 610 will sell for just as much as an "original" one. Even more, if it makes it more presentable.
Paint it with no regrets, it that's what you want to do.
