Bikes: bianchi brava 1988. fuji track 2007, 2006 Bianchi Pista, 1987 Miele and a strida knock off

I did the same thing to a set of wheels for my car.

You can get well into 1800 grit, wet sand paper, at any auto body place.

Follow with mothers aluminum polish and possibly rotory buffer
