Noob here, so please tread gently. Hmm, did I read the past five pages and still don't know how to run double straps on the GR9. A post prior mentioned replacing a bolt to 1" instead of 1/8"? Can that be explained further, which bolt and where and is it just one bolt or?

The DIY Toe Strap Doublers at http://www.davidrmunson.com/convergence/?page_id=30, although sounding logically, bulletproof, is overdoing it. As much as I want to avoid clipless at all costs, I'd prefer clipless to running both $100 Toshi straps and strap doublers, with all that extra material and button heads, it's just way too much weight and overly busy. May as well run dual brakes on the bike with the "clutter" the pedal setup brings.

And I read elsewhere a user swearing by double straps behind the axle. This would eliminate the need for zip ties as well, which kind of is the same as the DIY strap doublers in that it takes something simple and makes it complicated.
