I know a lot of people can probably dust that mph, so I'm curious what other people can max on flat road?
GPS file or it didn't happen.
Let's just say I'm a bit skeptical, particularly if we assume no tailwind and truely flat ground.
To get to the 35mph we're talking an effort of well over 1000 watts. Then to maintian it for half a mile, you need approximately 700 watts for a minute. That's going to put your one minute power in at least the Category 2 range.
There are certainly people on this forum that can do 700 watts for a minute. And probably a few that could do 700 watts for a minute immediately following a full sprint.
However, the odds that someone who appears to be pretty new to riding ( see First Century thread) could do it, are rather low.
