Police said there was a bike path nearby but the cyclists weren't found on it. The path had paved and gravel parts, and the bicycles had thin tires.
Relevance? Especially the part about the tires...I'm surprised there were no comments about whether they were wearing helmets.

To be a bit controversial, every story about a cyclist being killed reeks of ridiculous excuses for ****: blaming the victim. The difference is that blaming the victim in the instance of **** has become taboo, but somehow using a small, vulnerable vehicle means you were "asking for it."
