Hammer does not have caffeine so it would not be my gel.
I am sure home made is fine but I don't have the time and only use gels on long rides.
there's a lot of research touting the benefits of caffeine for endurance athletes. It's efficacy is diminished if you say, drink a pot of coffee every morning

don't have the time is a cop out. Just say it sounds like too much hassle for you. It takes 10 minutes to make what hammer sells for $25 out of $5 worth of material. If you ever cook, throw an extra pot on.

I'm still of the opinion that just about everyone has time for anything they want to do. it's just a matter of priorities.

"Espresso and Tropical contain caffeine."
