Absolutely nothing is wrong with their frames. They are your quintessential cheap "house" frame. I own both the XRL cross and the XRL TT aluminum frames. For what it's worth, the former was made in Taiwan and the latter in China. In both cases, it was just so I could cheaply start racing specialty races ('cross and time trials, respectively). I bought both of the bikes as framesets for about $300, and built the bikes up mostly out of components from my parts bin. I have gradually upgraded both bikes, especially the cross bike. Neither one of them is an outstanding ride, but the frames do their job of keeping the wheels together (the 'cross bike has two seasons of racing on it), and when I am ready to replace the framesets with something better, it's a pretty easy swap.
