Been there, done that! I have a 10 mile loop that I ride on my lunch hour. In order to avoid having to cross a busy road twice in two blocks I ride the section on the sidewalk (let it be said, this is the ONLY place I ride on a sidewalk). During one of my rides, I saw the car pulling forward out of a parking lot so I slowed some. He looked right at me, looked left and then pulled out. I ended up on his hood with no physical damage to me but had a really trashed front wheel.
