It also can estimate your travel time based on custom information you enter about average speed and climbing ability. Once dialed in it is amazingly accurate even on trips 50 or 75 miles long. It will also allow you to ride against your virtual partner. It can use two mapping engines, Google Maps and OpenStreetMaps. Google maps is great for street traval but is less likely to have MUP information when using the automapping feature on this website. Another feature of this website is the ability to map to the side of the road. This is useful on travel where a street is used more than once. This can confuse your GPS. It will not know if you are coming or going. This may also be the reason for your misterious u-turns. You can also change a track point into a course point easily. This allows you to receive notifications on your GPS when you have reached this point. Once your map is created you can upload a KML file to Google Earth and fly your map virtually. Awesomeness if you have never rode the area and want an idea of what you will encounter.


With this site you can make your map public to share with others but their is no way to search for public maps. You must be given the URL address. For this I use other websites such as http://www.ridewithgps.com/ and http://www.mapmyride.com/
