I'm not sure "operator" is the only one confused...
The problem is that in "hand her over to her mother, she wanted" you use "her" twice to mean your daughter, but then "she" to mean your daughter's mother (I think) without specifying. Too many pronounds, not enough nouns.
But either way, what's wrong with snuggling with your wife OR your kids? They're both OK as far as I'm concerned.
