I think you have a point, but I don't think that's possible. Seems more likely that the shifters were hit from the side. Of course, it could be a trick of the light.
double taper seat stays and Nervex lugs seem like a strange combination. Suggests Columbus tubing. We need to know the threading of the BB and the size of the seat post
