Kryptonite bike lock fans are too funny. Take your pick on how easy it is to pick your $ 65-100 lock, whether it's a key, a combination or the old style key that you can pick with a bic pen. To me you're just out $ 65-100 more on top of your expensive bike. The real thieves will have your kryptonite lock picked in 20 seconds or less. You're fooling yourself if you think locking it up unattended and outside your immediate view is safe. Search You Tube for tutorials if you don't believe me ? The other day I locked my bike over in front of a store, was in there a few minutes and the bike was out of sight, after watching a few videos and knowing what I do from those videos, it was a welcome relief to come out of the store and find it was still locked to the parking meter, and that was just a few minutes that it was locked, unattended and out of view.

A bike lock deters an otherwise honest citizen from becoming a bike thief. Habitual, repeat offender bike thieves won't care what type, brand, model or how much you spent on the lock, they'll have it picked about as fast, if not faster than some bike owners with the actual key for the lock.
