RIP - 2009 BMC Team Machine SLT01 - March 11 2010 to July 20, 2010
She met her death very suddenly in her short life. A car had stopped in front her after making a hasty left turn. Travelling at 20mph, the quick steed had no chance to stop and thus collided with the Mazda CX-7. The cause of the whole incident was most likely a hurried driver not paying attention and wanting to go in front of the steed - not so, for she was fast and elegant. She was beautiful and powerful. She had the approval of many riders from the gaze of their eyes and the lust in their hearts. Unfortunate then, that she had yet to find out her potential having only run 5 races this season.
Her diagnosis is a cracked joint where the headtube and the downtube meets. This makes her unrideable. The fork didn't fare any better after having been tested - it croaked by making a popping noise. The only repairable piece is the Reynolds front wheel. But alas, the rest of her organs will be transplanted to the new skeleton where her spirit will hopefully reside for a very long time.
Visiting hours will be limited once the owner decides what to do with the broken skeleton. Perhaps hung on the wall, or framed in a frame - to live on longer than when she was on the road and be admired once again.
