I love downtube shifters. They're so much more simple than brifters, much more simple, and much more versatile in switching parts out. However, most decent mass-produced frames lack braze-ons for downtube shifters.

This lead me to the question: is it possible to run downtube shifters on a frame without braze-ons without actually brazing metal onto the frame? Thanks.
