It won't hurt it for another Simplex install, but - as I emphasized before - threading the hanger will do nothing to allow the Suntour to work. The adjuster screw will not work as a stop if reversed, and it won't work if removed. It just won't. Period. See my previous post for the explanation as to why this is the case.

P.S.: Post a photo of your hanger. There is no reason for the hanger to shove the wheel any further forward than the spacer that was there before it.
