I didn't try the other fork I just wanted to lighten up the bike a little. The fork I got weighs half of the O.E. fork. I cut it the same way with a tubing pipe cutter(large one of course). Remember you will need a different fork compression nut , the one the bike comes with will not fit a carbon fork because the I.D. is smaller on the carbon. I found this out after so I ordered one off ebay that is made for carbon. I like the handling and everyone at work loves this bike. I'm half way thru my pink frame build , I'm using the stock fork so I'll let you know how it rides. Again if you need a parts list Just e-mail me at degonias@yahoo.com especially for the fork compression nut.
