Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

cool-they have a blue one also But I have a red and black MT bike so I already have the matching clothing and helmet.
Good Luck with your build and remember clean your bottom bracket threads with a razor or if you have use a tap or you could have a bike shop run them clean-that was the only problem I had -I couldn't get the bracket started into the threads because of paint build up. I used a razor box knife to clean mine up and it worked.

Went to the seller page and his bikes look pretty good, geometry pretty acceptable. The paint looks pretty good also. Like it a lot

Hey degonias thanks for the info on BB. How does that carbon fiber fork handle? I noticed that the seller claims that the aluminum fork has 30mm rake. So did increasing the rake dramatically change the handling overall? Because most of those ebay carbon forks have 43-45mm. You may or may not have ridden on the original. So if thats the case how does it handle in your opinion? Does it seem well put together? Im thinking about getting one of those forks and was wondering what you thought. Other than that, been out on it more? How are you liking it?

I didn't try the other fork I just wanted to lighten up the bike a little. The fork I got weighs half of the O.E. fork. I cut it the same way with a tubing pipe cutter(large one of course). Remember you will need a different fork compression nut , the one the bike comes with will not fit a carbon fork because the I.D. is smaller on the carbon. I found this out after so I ordered one off ebay that is made for carbon. I like the handling and everyone at work loves this bike. I'm half way thru my pink frame build , I'm using the stock fork so I'll let you know how it rides. Again if you need a parts list Just e-mail me at degonias@yahoo.com especially for the fork compression nut.

Bikes: GMC Denali

How is it possible to ride with your hands on the hoods the way you have them? I would fall over the front of my bike if I tried to climb with those the way you have them set up.

they're not finished yet- I just slid them on for the picture....as you can see I have no cables or wrap on the bars as of yet. Also the bike is not for me-I'm building it to be sold at a future date.

Yea, you finally fixed the angle of the seat and the bars! Not sure I like the white chain. What do use for lube to keep it looking clean?
Are those microshift shifters? I have some on my cross bike and really like them. Way underrated imo.

Thanks-Yep I straightened everything out and yes those are Microshifters-Half the price and they work great. The white chain I lube with a dry lube but the bike only has 15 miles on it after a doing a test run. I plan on selling it after a cancer bike ride. Hopefuly I can sell it to a lady that can't afford a $1500 bike. Thaks for all the input on both bikes. If I can give any advice don't hesitate to ask.

Well! A lot slower than yours. I've got almost everything. Saving up for wheelset and shifters.

Can't go wrong with "Microshift shifters" From nashbar.com $105 and wheel sets from crosscreek sale off ebay for $89-good luck.

I was thinking the same thing. This must be the cross between cycling and a grad student's performance art project.

Do you know what the bottom bracket is for the road bike?
