I know that in the heart of Campy Ergos is a cam that dictates the number of gears the shifter can handle, and I belive that Campy bar ends use the same cam. So how about Campy down tube shifters? Do they still make them, and do they use the same cam? Suppose I have an older pair of Ergos, and manage to score a pair of DT shifters with a more updated number of speeds, could I then plunder the DTs out of their cam and stick it in the Ergos?
