Agree and very much agree.
Since I have aerobars on my bike I cut a section of pvc pipe, zip-tied it between the aerobars and installed the quick disconnect on the pvc. Works great!
But... I was on a trail run recently and an inexperienced a$$hat mountain bike rider came along riding in the opposite direction. The trail was wide enough for both of us to pass without dumping into the gigglies. But he freaked out, squealed like a little girl, swerved back and forth and actually side-swiped me. 5-6 steps later, I realized that he actually knocked my Garmin off the quick-release wrist strap and sent it flying. It took me at least 20 minutes of searching to find it lying face down in the weeds. I was really not happy and may have had some choice words regarding his riding ability. Arm behind my back when passing mountain bikes now!
Bottom line: I'm confident with the security of the quick-release mount but you do have to keep an eye on it!
