in the early 80s i bought a bare frame/fork 72 Paramount that had been rattlecanned metallic blue, for $125. it sat for a few years, then i had Richardson Bike Mart send it out to Medici Cycles for full braze-ons and a Miami Vice paint job. i built it up with Phil Wood hubs on Mavic tubular rims, Campy Nuovo/Super Record gear, Cinelli bars and stem, and a Turbo saddle. then, i forsook all forms of cycling/racing etc. my race bikes had been stolen, one by one, and the 'Mount was all that remained. i got into competitive swimming in the late 80s and stayed there. in 2007, i looked at the old 'Mount, and saw nothing but a good pile of dough sitting there not doing anything. i 'knew i'd never get back into cycling', and put it up for sale, eventually selling it on Velospace to the gent here on CV known as redxj, who answered my ad. i sold it to him along with a nice pile of misc. Campy gear, freewheels, Dura Ace stuff, etc. because, i just 'knew' i'd never cycle again. this year, i finally got my fill of competitive swimming and have been cycling again, and repurchasing at much inflated prices what i sold off in 07. still no 'Mount, but i have replaced the Grandis race bike of my early 80s hay day with another one, and i am very happy with that. and i still want another Paramount
