Incorrect. That is what Scott's marketing would have you believe. When you dig further, you find that it's an identical frame, but about 100 grams heavier (900 grams vs. 800) and the fork is 60 grams heavier (390 grams vs. 330 on the R1). Otherwise identical, I'm told they ride the same. Still builds up to a very light, stiff, great feeling and handling racing bike. I like it.
900 grams is very light for a CF race frame boys.
