Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Perhaps.

Scott just called. They want to know where to send your shill check. Why they called me I have no idea.

Your continued taunting only inflates my already preposterously high and insurmountable BF Post Count.

Concur. Just put a new 10sp 105 crankset on my CX bike, and besides the 105 chainrings not being hollowtech, the rest of the cranks are just like the Ultegra. Oh and it has a seriously beautiful black finish.

Yeah, I guess that makes me a 75/100 kind of guy, having passed over the R3 SL for the R3. I was looking at a Cervelo or a Scott, which ever was *immediately* available.

Not really sure what LS3/5a are going for these days but given the title of this thread, I figured it would be appropriate to ignore the $500. limit. OTOH I do seriously miss my LS3/5a, and the 4 or 5 systems I had carefully put together and brutally torn apart in the pursuit of audio nirvana.

No pun intended, I'm sure.

I'm kind of surprised a forum that is comprised of people that regularly hear "Shazam, I aint never paid no more than $200 bucks for no bicy-hikle, why'd you wanna do tha-ut?" wouldn't appreciate the choice of prime equipment for a highly competitive activity. Birding is cut-throat.

Otherwise identical, I'm told they ride the same. Still builds up to a very light, stiff, great feeling and handling racing bike. I like it.

900 grams is very light for a CF race frame boys.
Yeah, I see that. Did a little research. Boy, they sure make it look like it is the 790g frame. I still dig it. I can get a serious hook up on one, so it might be my new bike. We will see.

$8000 for f***ing birds?
Yes, I believe that is the fine in some states. As well it should be.

I'd actually say $1,500 to $1,800 is the sweet spot. Few people (Maybe that Cat 2 guy on Sunday) i know can outride a sweet carbon/alu frame with 105's and decent wheels. Likely even a carbon frame if you know where to look.

I think so too. That $1700 BD Evoke SL gets raves. The handy can also get there easily by putting a bike together from parts.
