Every April, the community bike shop in Missoula, MT holds the "festival of cycles", a free for all of bikes and parts in a town park. This year I brought home this GF Hoo Koo E Koo, late eighties or early ninties, steel, cartridge BB, bad paint, but excited nonetheless. The wheels/tires came from the local thrift totaling $5... Deore LX Parallax hubs laced to Sun L-18 alloy rims, specialized Fat Boy 1.5" road slicks. My LBS, formerly a GF dealer had an NOS 1-1/4" quill stem and a 27.2 to 28.6 seatpost shim totaling $17. Canti brakes, levers, seatpost, seat, and fenders came from the garage stash holdings. Rides really nice and I even got a rainy commute for its first day out. Loving this one... pretty nice little $22 build.
