Oh and no, it's not really cold yet. I'll be riding to work for the next two semesters, as my schedule doesn't coordinate well with my wife's (and she can have the car). It will get down to -40 (that's where F and C are the same) a couple of times this winter. I use a mountain bike with studded tires when the snow flies. The XT shifters stop working at about the freezing point so I need to select my gear before leaving the house. I think a single speed may be in my future.

The LBS does have some deals this time of the year. They are trying to make room for the skis and snowboards.
