Thank you all for the information. The very main reason I am planning on getting a Miche Cog / adaptor system is because on one particular site I could get the entire set for $30ish! (track cog, adaptor & lockring.) Now that I cannot use the Miche lockring I'd end up having to buy a Shimano one and those cost a good $13ish the cheapest. That would pump my new cog set to a grand total of $40. The $10 increase isnt a big deal but I just want to ensure that using another lockring other than a Miche lockring wouldn't make it hazardous.
