Question regarding Miche Track Cogs & Lockring.
I am looking to get a new cog and the Miche track cogs caught my attention with the interchangeable adaptor design. I understand that Miche cogs & lockrings are good for all Italian hubs but are they also compatible with origin8 branded formula hubs? Thanks in advance.

If I was to just use a Shimano dura ace lockring ( or any other English thread lockring) on it would it be sufficient to hold the adaptor and cog firm in place? I really dont want to risk the chance of the cog slipping off during a ride.

Yup, Italian lockrings have a different pitch than ISO/English lockrings.
I believe Mr. Tejano uses that set up and it seems to be holding up for him on the track.

I have Miche hubs and the Miche cog system. Quite fond of it. You put the cog on, thread the lockring finger tight then use the chain whip to tighten the cog. Once tight you use a lockring tool to secure it.

Thank you all for the information. The very main reason I am planning on getting a Miche Cog / adaptor system is because on one particular site I could get the entire set for $30ish! (track cog, adaptor & lockring.) Now that I cannot use the Miche lockring I'd end up having to buy a Shimano one and those cost a good $13ish the cheapest. That would pump my new cog set to a grand total of $40. The $10 increase isnt a big deal but I just want to ensure that using another lockring other than a Miche lockring wouldn't make it hazardous.

you should be able to get a good cog and lockring for well under $40. I think mine (Surly cog with Dura Ace lockring) came out to about $35 installed at the LBS (didn't have a lockring spanner at the time so I figured I'd let them do the dirty work).
Try this:
There are some OK prices for Dura Ace cogs and lockrings on Amazon, Niagara cycle works, JensonUSA.com, etc. You should look to spend about 30-35 bucks for a really good cog+lockring setup (plus shipping). Also check the Ebays...
***I guess I don't know if you're running 3/32" or 1/8", but these should be a good start. I also got a decent chainwhip and lockring spanner, but some people live and die by the Rotafix method. Lockrings are, however, your friend IMO...
