I think your clowns take the prize, but I had a similar one this week who only looked at the pretty pictures and didn't read the words. I was selling a hybrid frame with a handful of parts and posted a photos of the frame and fork, and another in its built-up state as a "serving suggestion." Despite the clear title and description, I had calls from people who thought I was selling a complete bike.
Fortunately someone who
did read the words put me out of my misery and bought it yesterday.

I have only had a issues with two people on CL when buying from me and both times it was not bicycle related. The first was a guy from South Africa that came to buy a lot of Lawn Boy lawnmowers that I was selling as parts only,all non running and all needing some kind of work he kept asking me to start them up so he can hear them run DUH! what part of parts mowers non running don't you understand. The next was a guy buying a used pickup truck from me that I was again selling as a parts truck because it needed a lot of work, all of which was in a full description in the ad but still he kept asking me questions on why this doesn't work and that doesn't work because he wants to use it for a job he had to do on Monday( it was Sat when he showed to buy it) I kept asking him if he had read the ad or just looked at the pics. He even called me up yelling that the transmission isn't working right when it stated right in the ad needs transmission work!
