This thread makes me feel bad about the time I flaked on a bike that I almost bought on CL. Was looking for a commuter and the dude was selling a fairly decent 80's road bike which probably was a bit too large for me. After making an appointment to see it, I called back and cancelled telling him I didn't want something with downtube shifters (which I didn't at the time). Don't really know why I just got this feeling that I didn't want the bike. Ended up settling for something that was probably lower quality with stem shifters that I've ended up spending more to make similar to that one I passed on, so I came to regret my decision. Sorry random CL flipper out there wherever you are...
