Sorry I missed this post first time round freebooter;
The DIY bridge is needed because the original had to be removed to make room for the bigger wheels. So I had to make this to clamp to the seat-stays and move the whole brake assembly upwards to let the tyres clear.
What I really need to do is get some steel bridges brazed on so that it's all a bit stronger. It works 'as is' but is a bit of an interim hack, and I have found there is a little movement despite the tight fitting of the ally bridge that means the brake can shift and start to foul the tyres if you brake hard. Something to do over the winter, and then - who knows - new paint?
