I bought a Bottecchia bike on ebay (which is a Bike's Direct bike) that was a Shimano Ultegra 6700, FSA, Cane Creek combo. Then I decided I wanted a CAAD9 and started watching ebay for frames and got one in an auction. Swapped everything (literally everything) over to the CAAD9 frame and sold the Bottecchia frame on ebay.
So now I have a Bottecchia bike that just happens to have a CAAD9 frame on it (Ha .. that should boil the blood of all the CAAD worshipers) for significantly less than I could have bought a CAAD9 with a mostly Ultegra 6700 drive train. I completely agree with the comment above - if you can tear down an engine then working on a bike will seem like something a kindergartner should be able to do.
