I'm seeing this picture:- [1] people concerned about the environment figure they will ride a bicycle, [2] authorities notice and begin to improve facilities for these environment conscious folks, [3] environment begins to improve, [4] fat greedy people (FGP) with no concern for environment want to use bike facilities for their insatiable greed and pleasure, [5] FGP lobby authorities until cyclists kicked out of said facilities, [6] environment damage continues [7] needs of FGP continue to dominate economic system of most western countries in the world [8] media run by FGP reports all is well and uses big words like "sustainable economic growth" .
