For what it's worth, I started P90X a couple of months ago. I've been doing the workouts off and on (I have a vacation next week, and when we get back my wife and I are both starting the program the way it is intended). Just from my doing the workouts a few times a week, I've made huge gains in my fitness level and lost some waistline.

However, the real benefit was that it started making me feel like I could be fit. And I started changing other things in my life. I quit smoking (have been "mostly" quit for some time now, but cheating way too much), have started eating better, and yes, it even got me back on a bike. I didn't buy the DVDs - got them from a friend who moved in with his GF and suddenly had 2 sets - but I am considering buying them just as thanks.

I don't think it was anything special about P90X that got me in the fitness mindset - I'm sure others out there found the same inspiration from working with a trainer, or support from a loved one, or a love of running/cycling/swimming, whatever - but Tony's program is great for me, and I'm thankful for it. I'm off to PR on Wednesday for a few days of drinking and eating WAY too much, then when I get back I hope to spend the winter using P90X and my new bike to get in great shape for the upcoming cycling season.

They are great workouts - intense, but doable, and it's much better than the half-assed fumbling attempts at the gym that passed as my "workouts"

Just my $0.02
