The final answer for me is: I'll buy the bike.

Yes I totally agree that the main intention for me to buy the bike is to have fun riding it...and while I can appreciate that everyone has different opinions, for me to personally spend $5K for a bike and only riding it on the weekend sounds ridiculous.

So yes by knowing the fact now that carbon + alloy combination wheels are pretty strong I'll decide to buy it.
