Most if not all build a bike configurators are not really build a bike in the sense that a computer system configurator is. And that's where the failing, even harsh judgment is similarly based. The bike components are the same across the board, color is the difference, the component often winds up being a manufacturers entry level offering. With computer system configurators, you get a choice of cpu speed, memory options, video card, all that have a quality upgrade within the category of components. I guess it's build a bike in that it allows you to see the artistic creation. But often times this comes at a $ 100 premium in cost, even though the inconvenience of waiting 2 weeks for the bike to be put together happens.
