I'm never reading CC's blog.

It's too mainstream.

Since Vixtor posted a link to CC's blog, 3 out of 6 posters have said they would read it.

If you extrapolate that out over the entire population of the world, that's like 4 billion readers.

Whatever, sheep.

It's amusing just how you missed the point completely, I'll spell it out for you then you have another opportunity to close another thread.

The the answer to the question "Is this bike, (insert bike of choice, Create, KHS etc.) a good deal?" is not "Get a Leader instead." You really should just let it go and move on, actually it sounds like it's your bib that is in a bunch.

I dunno, it sounds like Scrod is just sharing an opinion he finds helpful. It is a well trodden subject by now that these bikes are not a good deal, so why would suggesting better deals (in one's opinion) be a bad thing?

Plus I hear Scord gets a Leader sticker or patch EVERY TIME he recommends one of their bikes, so

I don't understand your logic, and I find that amusing because I'm nearly handicapped so I get most of what the lames around here are trying to say.

What happens is someone gets a new bike that no one has tried before and says "Whoa, this is sweet guys, check it out" and then theres another piece of equipment collectively added to The Forumers list of suggested bikes in X price range that give you the most bang for the buck.

someone completely unattached from Scrod reaffirms the fact its a legit bike.

We then have someone suggest some other bikes

Honestly, if you were to get a FTP or Concept, or Bareknuckle and go ranting and raving about it should we mob you screaming shill? ffs, people get new toys, fall in love, and then get new ones.

In the small time i've been a member here (I lurked for a long time before I even created an account) I've seen Scrod go through 3 bikes, and other members go through several as well. We're not all made of money, so every bike isn't being tested, we have a small collective knowledge of what we've used and enjoyed, and what didn't work, or wasn't worth its price.

And frankly your post seems like your trying to provoke a power you see as unjust, when frankly for a forum this large and moderated SSFG seems to run wild with content that i'd deem unfit if i were trying to keep things PG.

Bikes: American Breezer mtb, American Classic ti road bike w/SRAM Force and XO, Crotch Rocket, SOMA 69'er w/XX-1 mtb, Handsome Shop Bike w/700c wheels. Bianchi SS 'cross

It it's a new frame and costs under $500, then it is cheap and low quality (Lousey tubing, suspect welds, crummy prep, poor ride, etc), using, of course, a traditional set of references. But based on the posts of a great number of folks, there seems to be a high demand for such frames. And the evidence suggests they will indeed last a long time (I remind you of the utility of the low quality frames/bikes used by 99% of the people in the rest of the world). So if you don't care about what others think - you hang out with people like you rather than knowledgeable cyclists - then a cheap, low quality, basic transportation bike is your cup of tea. In fact everyone should have one so they can appreciate the 99% who depend on their bikes to get along, rather than worrying about its quality.

Then again, unlike the rest of the world he came to a group of people who know a lot about bikes and said "how is this deal" and they said "you can get more bang for your buck"
I believe its human nature to try and get the most they possibly can, so when you put it like "cheap, low quality basic transportation. Or check this out, its in a similar price range and pretty much everything on it is a couple steps up" they'll go for that, and be happier in the long run because they ride their friends "Cup of teas" and say "Wow, I can feel the difference, I'm a smart, intelligent young individual" and BAM, instant self esteem.

Exactly. Apparently I'm the only one here who does that.

Thank for all your comments I will take them in to consideration. I still need two more months for recovery (I had surgery on my elbows yesterday)

I will either build my own bike out of an old Road - Track frame over the winter or save some money and get something good next year.

Thanks to you all!

BTW - I do use the search option on Bikeforums but I live in Manchester (UK). Long distance shipping is something I don´t want to get involved with.
