Maintaining my honor with my non-riding coworkers was my main motivation this morning (I admit it, I usually wimp out when it's raining hard in the morning). So today was a first of sorts for me. Plus they now KNOW I am nuts!

Glad I rode in - rain gear worked well enough (what I wanted to keep dry stayed dry). A freebie hotel shower cap worked as a helmet rain cover (until I stopped moving at then it got real sweaty!). Hoped the reduced turnout would help my odds at the prize drawing at the Reston "pit stop" but no such luck this year.

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of cyclists I did see on the trail this morning. And I feel my standing with the hard-core commuters at work has gone up a little.
