This is an excellent, easy and inexpensive way to make the paint to chrome transition. I pick mine up at a local Canadian Tire Dept store.

Have a peek at my Legnano. I usually dab a bit of clear coat, at the joint and let-er-go. If it fails down the road, pardon the pun, just apply new tape and let-er-go.
