I fixed the text wrap issue by clicking "Forum Actions" at the top of the page, selecting "General Settings" and then towards the bottom, changing the Message Editor Interface from "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" to "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls".
Running IE8 on Windows 7. Hope that this helps others.
Thank you, that did it and in fact after reading your post I remember this same issue on another forum a couple years ago.
