just bring a blanket and bivysack....you can camp out on the beach; but be discrete because the police patrol and may give you a hassle if youre out in the open. You can even ditch the bivy if you dont mind sharing the underside of the boardwalk with the local homeless population.

You dont need a whole lot of spares; most of the shore communities have some local bike shops in the event of failure.

Get a small carradice like the junior or barley for your handlebar bag...really a saddlebag but they'll work.
