I agree, that bike shop needs to re-think its approach. What a waste.
I did not try to hide my dismay, when I saw the destroyed Gardin (it was a Gardin TNT and close to identical to the one I used to own. But my dismay display did diddly to change the situation. In all honesty, that frame set was the only one I actually witnessed, after being purposely destroyed. But the shop guy did tell me that doing that, to any discarded frame set, was policy. To that, add the the frame set had been offered for sale, for quite a while, as it hung from a hook in the back room.

Go figure!
