He's one of my favorite sellers. He discloses the problem with the frame in the ad. This thread is pointless.

Is it commonplace to refer to dropouts as "pads"? "Sawn half pipe". . . really? The seller could do a much better job of disclosing the damage.

He does not speak English, but it's not so hard to figure out what he's trying to say. The picture makes it clear enough.

Same here. But $170 on top of the repair/repaint is too much.

Out of curiosity, what would you do to repair it? Replace the stay? Just fill it with new silver (or brass)?

yep I think its small enough to fill it with solder.

I can't imagine why someone did that.

Yes, and I've dealt with him in the past (primarily Stronglight chain rings). My experience has been that he's a straight guy, good delivery times, and everything I've bought has been exactly as described.

Frame is probably bent at the head tube, too. Note the nearly 90% head tube angle and what looks like an ovalized down tube between the 531 sticker and the lug.

Nope. Its resting on the BB and fork ends which gives the illusion of a more steep head tube angle.

From: My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

Bikes: to many to list

If someones dumb enough to buy a bike frame that has the words "sawn half pipe" in the details they deserve to loose their cash. Come on people, you think the guys gonna throw in a bike/skateboard ramp along with the "halfpipe" and frame? Get real.

Bikes: Forty of them

I'm with ftwelder - if I could get it cheap I'd just fix it, but $170+ship is way too much for something which still needs a repair like that. 1975 PR10, by the way.
