As far as I'm concerned, it's all entertainment fees. What is "wasted money" to one person is "well spent" to another. Wether you spend it on an exotic house, boat, cars, toy collection, antiques, video games, guns, cycling, gambling, etc... It's how you entertain yourself. What you spend it on is relative to your tastes. I ride a $2000 bike. I don't see the justification (as nice as they are) to spend $7000 on a road bike. I have other interests that I invest in for my entertainment (mtb'ing, adventure racing , cars). However, I'm sure there are people who would drop the money in a heartbeat on the 7 g bike & consider it totally worth while, laughing & pointing at my ride. Perspective is a tricky thing.
