I've been riding a nearly stock '04 Bianchi Pista around DC every day since last July. Haven't had any problems with it so far and I ride it pretty hard, but also treat it well and avoid potholes, pedestrians and bad drivers when I can. I think that on top of the parts themselves a little TLC and an eagle eye influence the lifetime of the stock parts on the ~$500 rides.
